There are plenty of golf tournament formats, which will be used at various events, and some are very popular while others
are not. The most popular ones is scramble, where there can be teams of various members ranging from two to four. A best shot will be picked, and
this will be after every stroke and after each member has played.
Right after this you have the best ball, with this game; each player of each team will play balls with their own holes. Team score will be the
one who has the lowest score at the end of the round. It is sometimes called Four Ball as well, and there will be variations with 1, 2 or 3
members. There is a format, which is called alternate shot that is also known as Foursomes.
This will have two people in the team, and they will use the same ball and hit alternate shots. There are three other
versions of the games. The modified Stableford, which has a format, which can be played an individual or a team, will include a certain number of
points for each hole. With this, you will have to capture the highest score.
This is one of the golf tournament formats, which are played at many international events. You also have the Chapman, or the Pinehurst, which is
a format with two people’s team. There will be a mix of other formats in this one. The team members will play alternate shots, and will exchange
balls after each tee shot. Till they see the ball being holed, they will take alternate turns.
The next popular format is the bingo bango bango, and players will get rewarded with regard to three aspects. The players
will have to get on the green, first player when it comes to the cup and also a player closest to a hole. Next you have the flags, and players
will have strokes set, and they will have to play till they run out.
There are other formats such as lone ranger, callaway system, and many more, which are all decided by the committee planning the
event.
